The United Strings String Quartet is a professional four-piece classical ensemble — two violins, viola, and cello — available for weddings, corporate events, galas, and private parties across the country. With more than twelve years performing at over 250 premier venues, our quartet blends timeless classical masterworks with modern pop and film arrangements, delivering an elegant live-music experience tailored to your occasion. Whether you're planning an intimate ceremony or a black-tie state dinner, a live string quartet brings a refinement and warmth that recorded music simply can't match.

Watch Our String Quartet Perform Live

Seeing is believing. Our performance videos capture the United Strings String Quartet at real weddings, candlelight concerts, and prestigious events — including the 2025 Presidential Inauguration Dinner featured in Forbes. From sweeping classical processionals to crowd-favorite pop arrangements, these clips show exactly how a live string quartet transforms the atmosphere of a room. Every performance is delivered by seasoned professional musicians who have played thousands of ceremonies and celebrations.

Wedding Ceremony Music, Handled From Start to Finish

A wedding ceremony has four key musical moments: the guest seating (prelude), the processional, music during the ceremony, and the recessional. Our string quartet guides couples through each choice, from the classic Canon in D and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring to contemporary favorites arranged for strings. We coordinate timing with your officiant and planner so every cue lands perfectly, letting you stay in the moment while the music carries it.

A Repertoire Spanning Four Centuries

Our string quartet repertoire includes more than 300 pieces — classical masterworks by Bach, Vivaldi, Pachelbel, and Beethoven; cinematic scores from John Williams and Hans Zimmer; romantic wedding songs by Ed Sheeran, John Legend, and Christina Perri; contemporary pop from Taylor Swift to The Weeknd; and Latin and international favorites. Don't see your song? Custom string arrangements are a specialty — we can prepare a bespoke version of almost any piece for your event.

Performing at the Country's Finest Venues

From grand ballrooms and historic museums to garden estates and houses of worship, the United Strings String Quartet performs at a wide range of premier venues nationwide. Our musicians are experienced with the acoustics, logistics, and formality that distinguished venues require. We arrive early, dress in elegant all-black formalwear, and complete a full sound check before your guests arrive — so the music is flawless from the very first note.

String Quartet FAQ

How far in advance should we book a string quartet?

Can you learn a custom song for our event?

What's the difference between the String Quartet and the Pop Quartet?

We typically book three to nine months in advance, especially for peak wedding season (May through October) and the December holidays. That said, we do our best to accommodate shorter timelines — reach out and we'll check availability for your exact date right away.

Absolutely. Custom string arrangements are one of our specialties. Whether it's your first-dance song, a processional, or a piece with special meaning, we can arrange and perform almost anything for the quartet. We recommend requesting custom songs at least six weeks before your event.

The classic String Quartet (two violins, viola, cello) leans elegant and timeless — perfect for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and formal dinners. The Pop Quartet adds instruments like guitar and cajón for a bigger, higher-energy sound built for receptions and parties. Many clients book the String Quartet for the ceremony and upgrade to the Pop Quartet or Quintet for the reception.

Do you perform indoors and outdoors?

How much space and what setup do you need?

Both. The quartet performs beautifully in ballrooms, houses of worship, galleries, and gardens. For outdoor events we ask for shade and a level surface to protect the instruments, and we can add subtle amplification for larger open-air settings.

The quartet needs roughly a 10 × 10 ft area, four armless chairs, and access to power if amplification is used. We arrive early to set up and sound-check so everything is ready well before your guests arrive.

Can we book fewer or more musicians than a quartet?

Yes. Beyond the classic four-piece quartet, we offer a solo cellist, duo, and trio, as well as our high-energy Pop Quartet and Pop Quintet. Tell us your vision and we'll recommend the right ensemble for your moment and budget.

How long does the quartet perform?

Do you provide your own sound equipment?

A standard booking covers the key moments of your event — for weddings, that's usually the prelude, ceremony, and cocktail hour. Longer coverage and multiple performance blocks are easy to arrange. We'll build a timeline with you so the music is exactly where you want it.

For most indoor ceremonies and intimate settings, an acoustic string quartet needs no amplification at all. For larger rooms or outdoor events, we bring professional sound reinforcement — and we can scale up to full production, lighting, and AV through our in-house team.

How much does a string quartet cost?

Pricing depends on your date, location, ensemble size, and how long you'd like us to play. Every event is quoted individually so you only pay for what you need. Send us your details and you'll receive a clear, custom quote — with no obligation.
