Hire a Pop Quartet for Weddings & Events
The United Strings Pop Quartet is a four-piece live ensemble — violin, cello, guitar, and cajón — that blends the elegance of strings with the rhythm and energy of a contemporary band. It's the perfect middle ground for couples and planners who want more than a classical string quartet but something more refined and flexible than a full DJ or cover band. From ceremony processionals to a cocktail hour that moves from Vivaldi to Bruno Mars, the Pop Quartet reads the room and elevates every moment, performing at weddings, galas, and corporate events nationwide.
See the Pop Quartet Perform Live
The best way to understand the Pop Quartet is to watch them. Our live videos capture the ensemble's signature sound — lush strings over the driving rhythm of guitar and cajón — from their popular cover of "Havana" to real event footage. Whether you're imagining background music for a cocktail hour or an unforgettable first dance, these performances show how four musicians can fill a room with the energy of a much larger band.
Trusted at the Country's Finest Venues
The Pop Quartet has performed at some of the most distinguished venues in the country, including the National Archives, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Mint Museum, and the Omni Bedford Springs Resort. Our musicians are experienced with the acoustics, formality, and logistics that premier venues require — arriving early, dressing the part, and sound-checking before your guests arrive so every performance is seamless.
500+ Songs Across Every Genre
With a repertoire of more than 500 songs, the Pop Quartet moves effortlessly across pop and Top 40, wedding classics, Latin and international hits, rock and classic rock, R&B, soul and Motown, and classical and cinematic works. Our multicultural song list is one of the most expansive anywhere, and custom arrangements are a specialty — if there's a song that matters to you, from a first dance to a cultural favorite, we can prepare it for your event.

Pop Quartet — FAQ
What's the difference between the Pop Quartet and a traditional string quartet?
A traditional string quartet is four strings — two violins, viola, and cello — with a purely classical sound. The Pop Quartet swaps in guitar and cajón alongside violin and cello, adding rhythm and a contemporary pulse. It keeps the elegance of live strings but brings the energy of a band, making it ideal for events that want both sophistication and a little more movement.
What instruments are in the Pop Quartet?
How far in advance should we book?
The Pop Quartet is a four-piece ensemble: violin, cello, guitar, and cajón. The violin and cello carry the melody and lush string sound, while the guitar and cajón provide harmony, rhythm, and a driving, danceable pulse.
We typically book three to nine months in advance, especially for peak wedding season (May through October) and the December holidays. We do our best to accommodate shorter timelines, so reach out and we'll check availability for your exact date right away.
Can you learn a custom song or first dance for our event?
Do you bring your own sound equipment?
Absolutely — custom arrangements are one of our specialties. Whether it's your first dance, a processional, or a song with cultural or personal meaning, we can arrange and perform it for the quartet. We recommend requesting custom songs at least six weeks before your event.
Yes. The Pop Quartet brings professional sound reinforcement so the ensemble is perfectly balanced and heard, whether it's an intimate ceremony or a lively reception. For larger or outdoor venues we scale the sound system accordingly, and we can add full AV production through our in-house team.
Do you perform indoors and outdoors?
Both. The quartet performs in ballrooms, museums, houses of worship, and gardens. For outdoor events we ask for shade and a level surface to protect the instruments, and our sound system adapts to open-air settings.
How much space and setup does the quartet need?
Can we upgrade the ensemble or add a DJ?
The quartet needs roughly a 10 × 10 ft area, four armless chairs, and access to power. We arrive early to set up and sound-check so everything is ready well before your guests arrive.
Yes. For a fuller sound you can upgrade to the five-piece Pop Quintet, and many clients pair the quartet with a DJ — strings for the ceremony and cocktail hour, then a seamless handoff to the DJ for dancing. We also offer lighting, AV, and video as add-ons.
How much does the Pop Quartet cost?
Pricing depends on your date, location, and how long you'd like us to play. Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Send us your details and you'll receive a clear, custom quote with no obligation.
